Bangladeshi Payra project wins global Award of Excellent Management of Mega-sized energy Projects

 

On October 31 local time, it was learned from the award ceremony of the IPMA global project management award, that the first phase of Bangladesh Payra 2X660MW coal-fired power plant   project, EPC contracted by joint venture of NEPC and CECC, won the 2020 International Engineering Management Award - the global Award of Excellent Management of Mega-sized energy Projects.


The Payra power station is the largest coal-fired power station under construction in Bangladesh. Two 660MW ultra supercritical coal-fired power generating units will be built in this phase of the project, all of which adopt Chinese technology and equipment. The system are the most advanced condensing steam turbine generating unit from China. After the project is put into operation, it has important practical and social significance to alleviate the power shortage in Bangladesh, and promote the local economic development, and expand and deepen the cooperation in the power field between the two countries.

International Project Management Association (IPMA) is a professional organization of international project management, which is composed of project management professional organizations from more than 40 countries in the world. In 2001, the International Project Management Association officially launched the Award of Excellent Management to evaluate the project management, and carried out the international project management award selection activities based on the excellent project management models.
